SE Asia Gravity Study
GIS-based G&G Database and Report

Format:
GIS G&G Project
Description:
A detailed gravity and magnetics interpretation for selected offshore areas of SE Asia:
- Song Hong-Phu Khanh
- Gulf of Thailand
- Khorat Swell-Cuu Long-Nam Con Son
- Palawan-Reed Bank-Sabah-Sarawak
- Natuna-Sunda Shelf
- East Java
- Malacca Straits
Potential field data (gravity and magnetics), in combination with seismic and well data, has been used to produce a detailed structural/geological framework for the entire region of interest. The integration of potential field data with various geological datasets has been used to define the principal structural basement fabrics that characterise the region, the distribution of different crustal types (continental, oceanic and heterogeneous) and their boundaries, carbonate distribution, and the extent of igneous intrusives (e.g., granite) and volcanics. Of particular focus, has been the identification of previously unrecognised rifts and/or the modification of existing, conventionally-defined basin boundaries.
All mapped interpretational elements and underlying datasets, including a full suite of gravity derivatives, are contained within the GIS project.
